12:29 pm	I got to say I'm relatively surprised I did not get comments on my last post, perhaps it is too much of a politisized issue. The banquet went well. The food was good, my speech turned out fine. The RA meeting also went well. My staff seems pretty cool. I found out I am going to be on the elevator side (opposed to campus side) of 2nd floor next year, which is fine. Sara is from Coon Rapids and Pat is from APple Valley, so that's cool that some of my fellow staff is from my area. I knew Mark, one of the staff members, from govt. The other guys' names were Zach, Justin, and Anthony. There is one named Joe studying abroad this semester. Amber (SA) I knew already, but she's cool. Andrea (the RD) seems pretty cool too. Fri-classes were fine. I got a 94 on my enviro exam, so I can't complain. I had a PES meeting, it was fine. Then I came back and hung otu until Sara, Mike, David, Koth, A. Joe, and I went to teh Pizza Ranch becasue it was P Mike's b-day. Later that night P Mike, Ed, adn I watched "The Island" (the movie about the clones that get harvested for their organs)-it was weird...had some graphic scenes I did not enjoy, but it is one of those movies that really makes you think. Sat.-I did govt and watched "The Parent Trap" on tv, which was weird, because David and I had just talked abotu the movie the day before. Then I went to Madison. Joe and I went to CHin's for an early dinner and then got some Jamba Juice. We went back to his dorm and watched tv and such. Then I woke up this morning and left and came back here. Today-we're setting up the jail for jail n' bail, to make sure it fits together and crap (because the RAs are all freakign out because their G-d, Kyle Bruckner, can't be tehre on the day of). Then I'm working on the Hispanic power point with my E/G partner and then have a SA meeting. (2 Comments |Comment on this)

11:20 am	Sunday-I studied and such, but since it was so nice out Amber and I went on a walk. Later that night I met my E/G partner and we typed out an outline for our project Monday-I met my advisor in the morning and figured out classes to take...I think if I can play my cards right I can be done with classes in 4 years and then do student teaching to grauate in 4.5 years. I also decided I am probably going to go on the bio excursion trip my senior year, because it would cover a couple of credit areas. It'll be to Florida, which'll be cool because i've never been there, and I'm sure we'll get to see the cool parts of it. (This year's is to AZ and NM deserts, next year's is to the pacific northwest) I actually only need like 4 other bio courses...so sad, and like 2 more for my minor, so that just leaves lots of education classes...and my 2 chemistry courses (yuck!) Then I had classes and then my lab partner for plant morph and I finished up our project. Yesterday-had classes and in the evening the homies and I watched Idol and House. (Comment on this)

12:34 am	Scores of the week: Plant written exam 59/75-that hurts, Plant project 61/75 also hurts, but I got a 90 on my gov test so that's nice. Aww my parents sent me a congrats card (for the scholarship) with a gas card-they're so sweet. Mon-classes, tri-beta Tue-classes Wed.-classes, hall council-we did it in a differnet way (removing the gavels and plaquerds and for the most part paril pro) so it was a lot more personal-I think everyone liked it more so that was good. People really took the initiative with Jail n Bail stuff too which lifted a lot of pressure off of me. Thu.-no classes, since it's thursday. So I studied anatomy and went to the review session for it at 4, and then to a shadow day training at 5, and grabbed some dinner and then I got together with Ed and Lauren to study a bit more and then I had my first RA meeting...I was sort of dissapointed, because I wanted to break into groups that would be my fellow RAs and we didn't do that. We did an icebreaker-it was alright and then we broke into small groups to answer questiosn we had which was helpful. Fri.-classes, amd then I technically had a PES meeting (2:00), but our advisor forgot about it and so it was pretty lame. Then I had a meeting with my advisor (who is also my plant morphology prof) and so I brought in my scientific article that we have to read and comprehend and write about..so we ended uo going over htat for an hour and a half! She is so dedicated, it was so nice of her. Yeah so we didn't even get to making my schedule for next semester hehe so I'm goign back to her on Mon morning. (2:30-4:00) So after that I came back here and typed plant stuff for the next hour and a half (4:00-5:30) until Amber's friend Julia got here (who I am not a big fan of) so then I left and went to Madison. SO I didn't get there until 7:00 so then we got a late dinenr at Buffalo Wild Wings-yum I love that place Then we went to Urban Outfitters and I got a couple pairs of dress shoes and then Walgreens I got some disposable cameras then watched South Park and went to bed.. Joe's dorm was like literally 85 degrees (his heater has issues) and so at some point in the night I ended up on the floor (I felt it would be cooler in my crazy night rationale) and so I woke up feeling a little achey. Then I left-and I got gas where I used my card from my parents and so I only had to pay 9$ for my gas. SO I got back into Platt and went to the public library (as the campus one is too big and confusing lol) and got a book about Hispanic Americans and a book about Hmong people. So then I came back and I got my hispanic project relaly under way, I finished my plant written stuff and started in on my next plant project..so I felt very productive. Somewhere in there though I took a half hour off because Jared's in town and so he came over and he took Mike adn I to Wal-Mart. I bought a jacket that is reversible and it was only 3$! (Poor little Indians probably had to sew it together) and I got 2 dvds, becasue they were 5.50$ (Girl, Interrupted and Enough). Unfortuantley I wanted to find a nice blouse (for the tri-beta and ALD/PES banquets) and I was unable to. SO then I came back and was working on government stuff because Amber went to the Spaghetti/Big band event, but then she called (seh had stopped by her sister's) adn was like "I decided not to go" which was weird since she'd gotten dressed up and all but so then we were going to watch a movie together (which would be ok, since I did just buy 2 new movies), but then Nicki came by and asked if I wanted to go bowling and despite the fact that i knew I would suck, especialyl against her bowlign goddess-ness I thought it'd be fun, so I called Amber and asked if she'd want to do that, adn we thought it was a good idea. So it ended up beign Amber, Nicki (RA), I , Jen (HC advisor-yes the mean one), P Mike, Andy (HC treasurer), Mark (another RA-who btw was weird to see him not attached to his gf) Robyn (from 2nd), Elise (who coems to HC), and some guy named Jon..who I didn't think I'd ever met, but he seemed to know a lot about me...which creeped me out a little, oh well. So I bowled a 50 something and a 60 something, luckilly Elise and Amber weren't doing so hot either so I didn't feel too bad. SO then we would've gone home, but Brian and Sara showed up so then Mike and I stayed to bowl with them. I bowled a 70 something and a 92! so I got better over time hehe. So now it is late..I really should sleep so I can be productive tomorrow. SO David gets to visit Dobson afterall..what's creepy is that he found out housing has been reading his LJS... I would lock this post, but a) I don't think housing would have a reason to read mine and b) if they do then I think I have some good input in this entry (4 Comments |Comment on this)

11:14 am	Friday-went to school again, worked-it was a big St Pattys dinner at the terrace-I worked with Michelle and Molly T. It went fairly well-the corn beef was delicious. Then I went to Emma's Pot luck dinner with her and myself, Joe, Kate, Luke, Vickie, Molly, Rachael, and Ryan. The food there was also excellent. Sat.-I worked all day 6:30 am-6:30 pm. One of my workers decided she wasn't going to come in, luckilly Michelle came in for her. Then Joe and I went to Outback and got some food and then hung out for a little while. Sun-I picked up Ryan and we drove back here and later that night I had a SA meeting-I'm starting to not like that organization...it's prissy, we'll see. This is my last week of Step Aerobics, I don't think I'm going to join the next session...even though I should. In other news, I got a 500$ biology scholarship, so that makes me happy (10 Comments |Comment on this)

8:49 am	Tue.-Joe and I went to Dragon Jade for lunch, then I we went to EP and I got free cardstock with a coupon to Archiver's, and then Joe bought me Lady and the Tramp on DVD, so then we came back here and watched it. Then I worked 4-cl, I was terrace. Then Joe and I got Arby's (I had a craving) and watched American Idol. Wed.-I finally got to go to Gatewood. It went well. Then I went to the Olive Garden with Joe, his parents, and brother. It was tasty, like always. Then we came back her and watched Idol. Of course, there have been lots of Scrabble games played (I have lost almost all of them) Thu-I went to gatewood. I found out a couple of my students are bullies and a couple did not know any English in Sep-I was so impressed, they aren't that behind thier classmates. I had one student that had some serious ADD, but other than that it went well. Then I worked 4-cl, I was terrace, camera club with Catherine, apparently my next door neighbor joined the club. Afterwarads Joe came over. The Gatewood teacher said she'd probably sign off the 25 hours for me, that would be sweet! I really wish I would've had the chance to do it on Mon and Tue though too, because it really is a good experience. (2 Comments |Comment on this)

8:45 am	Friday-I had classes and a plant exam then I met with Ryan and we drove teh5 hours home. I dropped him off and then went to Kate's and hung out with her Emma, and Rachael. Then I came home and unpacked an then Joe came over for a bit. Sat.-I worked 10-cl and then Joe and I hung out Sun..-I worked 7-cl, then Joe and I went to a family gathering, which was lame like always Mon.-ugh! I was supposed to go to gatewood so I woke up and our power was out (due to the massive snow storm that came the night before, damn MN, freaking tundra) and so I went to gatewood to find it is closed because their power is out. So I came home pissed and then I called Wendy so I ended up wroking 2-cl, I was terrace, I had like 19 people. Luckilly Michelle helped me out for a little while. When I went back to the commons there was Ashley and Andrew. It was really nice to see them again. They actually seem to be doing really well. They got an apt near ridgedale and have lived there for about 4 months, Andrew just quit the gas station and is going to be working construction and Ashley still works at Blockbuster, but wants to work back at BH in Sep. Tue.-muy house has power, but Gatewood still doesn't! I'm soooo pissed. Anyone have ideas on how I can get my hours in? Man I wish BH counted. 10:38 pm	Crazies! SO yesterday I encoutnered like 3 crazy people in about 2 hours.. First 4:00 after my antomy lab I stopped by the registrar's office to pick up an official transcript in which I had ordered. There are two regisrars behind the desk and there is a guy standing at one of them, so I go to the other one. He is liek "hello?" and I think he's either talking to the registrar or on the phone and he precedes and is like "how are you today?" and so I look over at him and I realize he's talking to me. He has one of those eyes that points down and to the right and another up and to the left and he's in like a camo body-suit. So I'm like "fine" and he's like "so you're graduating?" which is a rash conclusion to jump to, the regisrar does lots of things and I'm like "no, I'm just picking up a transcript for a scholarship I'm going for" and he's like "oh yeah I understand, because I'm from West Virginia and now live in Iowa" um okay-do tell me your likfe story. So then I said good-bye lol. So then I came back to my dorm for a bit until I decided to go get some dinner, shortly before 5:00. I'm walking to the student center and this 40-50 year old bigger black lady comes up to me and like blurts out "cnsdjighbjdbvgvcommons?!" and I'm like "what?" and she's like "ijsdhfysgbvsdjvglenview commons?" so I'm like "yeah go past teh graveyard and it'll be on your left" and she's like "oh okay" SO then I go in and meet the study boys and we all eat, then I left them to their studying and started the voyage back. I walk out and it's raining and there is one guy next to me (no body else) and he's got like a long blond piony tail and a weird trench coat and he's like "heeelllloooo raaaiiin....." and there is like no one for him to be talking to so I look at him, in which he feels he needs to somehow justify it and he's like "oh don't you worry little lady, it said hello back, it said hello" So then today I had a few more crazies-Denis of course making weird clothes in the lobby always says something odd and then the kilt guy was listening to his ear phnes and he was liek jamming with his music so hard that he could barely walk in a straight line-like he was strumming a fake guitar and slapping his knees-P Mike was with me and we were like laughing at him...I'm pretty sure he heard us, but seriosuly he has to expect it. 11:11 am	Monday-had classes and 3-beta. My gov test was really hard, it made me sad hehe Tue-my E/G classes were cancelled so I only had plant lab, so that was nice. I bought a 20$ sweatshirt from the bookstore (Normally they run about 40-50$) so I was pleased. I went to David's and watched Idol and then Dan joined us and we watched House. Today classed, currently in bear den. hmm I thought I had a point to this post...I'm coming home in 2 days! (Comment on this)

7:44 am	So last night my neighbors-sarah and her bf Brandon were fighting. For whatever reasone they had their door wide open so P Mike and I could hear it. Seriously he's fat, ugly, greasy, and lazy-now I could get around all that, until last night when I heard how mean he is to her. SHe needs to dump his ass! He was like constantly swearing at her and telling her that is she felt left out it's her fault. She more or less wanted to watch a movie or go on a walk or do something just the two of them, and he like didn't getit he was liek "we hang out all the time!" and hses liek "but never just the two of us, not like a date" and he's like "you know we can't afford dates"..yet he can afford his relationship with alcohol. 5:57 pm	So I got a 94 on my gov exam-which was the top score in the class, yay! However, after my ridiculous amount of time given to plant morph I think I did bad on the exam-like lucky if I get a C bad. It was stuff I didn't study..somehow. Today I had classes and then a review session for A+P and then tri-beta, I ate dinner with Melissa. I'm going to some play tongiht for E/G. I arranged one of my Wed tests to be moved to Thu so that will ease some of my pain. (Comment on this)

1:28 pm	Friday-I came back from my classes and worked on plant morph until Joe arrived. When he got here we exchanged presents. I gave him 2 DVDs (Ofice Space and Spider-man 2), a dress shirt (for his co-op, it's green), some candy, an octopus that sings and spins, and a giant crossword about us. He gave me this pink box..it's sort of a jewlwery box, and sort of not, that I pointed out at a store back home, a pumice stone, a candle, a "gift certificate", and a necklace. The necklace is really nice..the chain is too dainty so I am not going to be wearing it a lot, but it's a mystic fire topaz heart pendant with 3 small diamond accents above it. I love mystoc fire topaz, so ti was a good pick. We then went with P Mike to Steve's Pizza. We ordered garlic bread and a xl pepperoni pizza...yum their pizza just like slides down your esophagus because it's so greasy hehe. We came back and I lectured plant morph to him for most of the night. Jim came and it was great to see him again too. Joe and I also did laundry and filled out the crossowrd. Sat.-we woke up and I lectured plant morph to him, until we ordered Milio's, which I hadn't had in a long time. Yum chicken bacon classic, I added sprouts, have I mentioned how much I love sprouts?! So tasty. After that I lectured to him some more until Sara, Brian, Mel, David, P Mike, Jim, Dan, Joe, and I all went to the new Mexican place in Platt. By New, I mean it was here when I returned to schooll her in Sep., but none of us had gone there yet. It was good, but not as good as Los Amigos (or as close to campus for that matter) but it was much better suited for a large group like us. Joe and I got fried ice cream for dessert, which I've never had in general, it was good. We came back and we all watched "Harold and Kumar go to White Catsle" which is always funny. Sara and Brian on Brian's bunk, me and Joe on A. Joe's bunk, and Dan, P Mike, David, and Jim all squished on the futon hehe. After that we had some real fun, we all touched Dan's knee which is an experience in itself. Then we tied Jim up in sip ties (big ones) and he couldn't get out for awhile, until he figured out to take his belt off and use it to pull the zip tie down off of him. Jim tried to play his songs for me but there were technical difficulties, I'm sure I will hear them some day though. My rearview mirror fell off of my windshield...so that may be a bit of an issue. Today Joe and I woke up and tried to wake up Jim (because he told us to awake him at 9:30) where he told me that Dan made him get naked lol..he wasn't completley awake. SO then we went to G-view with P Mike, Smily stalker was there so Joe finally got to see him, that was awkward. After that I lectured some more to Joe and then when Jim awoke Joe and Jim set off for their places of residence. Rachael...see if you notice anything special about this post. 2:29 pm	Thu-I studied government pretty much the whole day Fri-I had classes, including the govt. test, I met with the 3-beta e-board..which was like me and Melissa lol. Then I went to a thing shortly for s. ambassadors, and called my ma because it was her b-day. Then I studied plant morph most of the night. Sat.-I studied plant morph most of the day, but then last night Koth, Sara, David, a girl named Mal, and myself went to the Snowball Dance. It was actually really fun. We people watched-some people were wearing like prom dresses..some people needed to get a room, some people were pulling Janet Jackson boob poppers, some people who claim they aren't dating were dancing closer than "just friends" would, and I had my stalker being creepy lol. Today-been studying, and now I'm at the bear den waiting for my piece of crap lab partner..he's 2 min late, I'll give him 8 more. (3 Comments |Comment on this)

11:35 am	Sun-I met with my lab partner, he showed up so that was a step for him, then I went to the student ambassador meeting, which was good Mon.-I had classes and a tri-beta meeting, it was fine-we had 3 new people come so that's promising Tue.-classes, and I went bowling with Bio CLub, it was Ashley, Melissa, Lindsay, BoKaye, Paula, and myself...we might as well be a sorority hehe, it was fun..I lost horribly I bowled a 53, but in my defense, I had an 18 up until the 7th frame and then I brought out the real stuff...so if I'd played a 2nd game I may've done better. Today-classes like always, killing time in bear den like always. I met with Sammy and we wrote up a blurb for the intercom (oh my goodness we're going to be published! lol) So I'm going to go to Gatewood and work in the ESl dept. over spring break, to satisfy my 25 hours needed for my Ethnic/Gender class, so that should be lovely. It sort've sucks though becuase those are hours I could've been working and gotten money, oh well. If you haven't checked out my latest f-book pic you should, it's a riot, David made it for me. 10:15 pm	Dans suck so our student ambassador meetigns are every other sunday at 6 so today was going to be our first one of the semester but a bunch of people freaked out because the bowl was on so for this meetign we switched it to 5 well then this guy e-mails me and is like "personally I think we should hold the meeting on Monday or something, I've talked to a lot fo people and we're not going to teh meeting and we're goign to watch the superbowl, and the kick off is at 5:25 and nothing you can do can stop me from seeing it, so attendance is going to suck good luck with that!" I'm jsut the freaking secretary, it's not like I decide the meeting dates/time...I just inform you as to when they are. and it's like it's freaking student ambassadors, you're supposed to be a bit more leader-y than that and his name is Dan and later that day my friend named Dan (who is practicall Dan Juola) was like "what are you studying for?" and I was liek "Anatomy" and he's liek "really?" and I was like "yeah" and i flipped so he could see hte cover and he's like "oh the essentials of..." and I was like "what's your point?" and he was liek "it jsut seemed too easy" like it's the first unit...so it's easy, but he doens't ahve to be a prick about it he's also a bio major...but liek I get better grades in the classes than he does and at our school you can either take anatomy I followed by anatomy II or jsut take essentials...well if I can be done in half the time, and have my credit satified I'm going to so the Dans made me mad, and btw our attendance was fine tonight! 4:39 pm	SO continuing with the interview: They asked "which of the following would you not be okay with discussing: abortion, homosexuality, depression... and said "I would be fine talking and listenign about any of them, but I wouldn't necessarily give my own opinions on them" I said htis because of the fact that I am so liberal in a very conservativeportion of WI, but I realize it amy came off as I hate gays or soemthing. They asked waht kind of person I don't like to deal with and what I do in that situation: I said arrogant poeple, but I put my personal opinions aside because it's work WHat kind of situation I would look to for help, and I said if it was a party or anything including alcohol where it needed to be documented..that question was hard, because I didn't know if they wanted me to talk about how well I could do before asking for help or if they wanted to hear abotu being cool with getting help. They asked what kind of role I assume in a group: of course I said leader lol Why I want to be an RA: because I have been inspired by RAs and because I am looking for leadership and management experience since I'm going into education. So anyways, last night I watched American Idol. Today I had step class, and then classes...idk they're fine, except my lab partner in Plant Morph. He doesn't show up for a lot of the classes so I'm clearly going to have to do all the work and then he'll get credit for it. Also my e-mail has been funky lately, it chops off e-mails and stuff, so annoying. My Plant MOrph book finally came in, so I don't have to read fuzzy crooked shit off of D2L so that makes me happy. Root Beer Keg at Hall Council tonight,t hat should be exciting, then a bunch of us are going to McG to watch Wedding Crashers with those folks over there. Tomorrow I'm doing a brat sale with Tri-Beta, set u at 9:30, brats from 10-2, and then shut-down...so come visit me and buy brats! You know the usual prices. The 2 profs I really don't like: My gov teacher...who never ceases to amaze me at the ways he avoids eye contact..it's like Wilson on Home improvement with the lower part of his face. Also my A+Plab teacher....and I don't even know why I don't like her, but I don't. (Comment on this)
11:33 am	Today is Amber's b-day, she's 23. I'm in the bear den, killing time between classes again. Monday-classes, and then Biology Club met I paid for my shirt, it looks pretty cool. Also David and I swam again. Tue.-classes, then I had my RA interviews, I felt I did allright. I did better than last time for sure. This time when they asked me "when is a time you've used good judgement?" I had an answer-I talked about the work party thing from over winter break. They also asked "what sets you a part from other candidates?" and I said that becuase I am on 7 exec boards I have lots of leadership experience, and I drew on the fact that through hall council I have faced many challenges. I thought that was good, because the RD knows for sure that I was up for impeachment. Right away in my one itnerview they asked to tell a little bit abvout myself, and I said Iwas from MN..and the one RA made a face...then I said a few other things liek my major and then I said I always liek to include a random fact abotu my self so I said "I was born with crooked feet" and he made a face again....so that one may have scored me low. They didn't ask the teamwork question, but if they had I had my ecology paper answer ready to go. They asked what my strengths and weaknesses were. Last time I said for my strenght that I was patient and weakness that I get stressed out, and have to challenge myself to get over it. Well they did not like that ecause I admitted I got stressed out, so this time I said "My strenghts are that I am open, outgoing, do well with time management, and am patient and my fall back is that I worry a lot, for instance, I was worried coming here, but it's a good hting in that it challenges me" I think that was a good response I got off track on two questions, one about "how do you think you make an impact?" I said "everything I say and do makes an impact" but then I talked about something my RA did...and then I couldn't remember the question...so I had to ask, and hten I was liek "yeah and so she rreally made an impact" lol and the other one was "what motivaters you?" and I said "other people" and I realized as I said that...that makes me soudn like a follower, nto a leader...oh well. They asked about programming I said that the strong points of it were condom bingo and sex jeo becuase they get a wide variety of people down, rather than just the hall council e-board, and they educate while being fun. I said weaker programs were the ones that didn't give enough info about wht they'd actually be about. For my own personal programs, I talked abotu doing the penny thign for diversity, and doind wheel of fortune or spelling bees. At the end of the one interview the RD said "wonderful" but she might just say that to everyone. I have more...but I have to go to class. (4 Comments |Comment on this)

2:12 pm	So this weekend has involved swimming, homework, and movie watching...so not too evenful. However, on Friday ngiht I went to dinner with my RA and some of her friends..so I met some new people, that was nice. Also I like Sara (Brian Koth's gf) so that's good, because Nicole isn't here to remind me that I can be freinds with girls. 11:09 am	Wed. my classes went fine, A+P lab is a lot better than most labs, because it's only 2 hours, not 3. We had our hall council e-board meeting, currently I am the only girl on the e-board now, hopefully Amanda will become our other RHA. Thu.-I had no classes, but I used the day, I did lots of reading and homework, I went to the writing center and went over my resume and cover letter (for RA), and over my scholarship essays, and then later I went and turned in my RA app. There was a tri-beta meeting, we moved our Chicago trip..currently I am the only girl going on the trip (notice a theme..lol) but hopefully BoKaye will go. Later in the night David and I went swimming for an hour..it is hard work to keep swimming laps for an hour! 8:14 am	Sun.-I got here and unpacked, later I went to my SA meeting. The advisor cooked us a gourmet meal, what a meeting! Sh ahd rolls, veggies, potatoes, salad, sauteed chicken breasts, and two desserts. It hit the spot as I hadn't really ate anything all day, due to bein gin the car. Mon.-classes began: I went to A+P and foudn out Ed was in it so that was good-Wayne is the prof, and he's cool, then government where I found out A. Joe was in it-also good, the prodf for that class is nice, but he talks to the ceiling. then I ate some lunch and then bought my stupid 90$ book, then I went to Enviro Conservation-where I knew Melissa was in it, the class was ok, teacher a little dull.Then i went to Plant morph, which is cool because there's only 15 people in the class, and we sat in a circle, and BEth teaches it so it was good. Later in the eve I walked to Uno's and had pizza with ALD/PES. Then I bummed a ride back with Sammy, because it was too cold and dark out. Tue.-Ethnic/Gender-lecture was a bit dull, but discussion was allright. I don't really know anyone in either, but that's ok. Then I had Plant lab, and as all labs are it was long and boring. Then I watched American Idol, and then I had a wing meeting, it was allright. I would write about the Ed and Chelsea love thing goign on, but I don't even understand it. Today I just got back from my first Step class, it was pretty good even though it's real early (6:30-7:15) (2 Comments |Comment on this)
